How to Obtain Care and Services

What do I do if I need outpatient services? 
You can contact and schedule appointments with any provider in the provider directory. You do not need prior authorization or a referral from Greater Oregon Behavioral Health, Inc. or another provider to see a network provider.

You can also search for a provider near you in the online provider directory at www.gobhi.org/provider-search.

Our Member Services representatives are available Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm to help you choose a provider that best meets your needs. If you have questions or need help deciding on a provider, please call us at 1-800-493-0040.


What do I do if I need inpatient care, partial hospitalization, sub-specialty care, or other behavioral health care services? 
Usually your treating provider will arrange hospital care, partial hospitalization, sub-specialty care or other behavioral health care services for you. If you think you need these services, you can make arrangements with any provider in the Provider Directory. You do need prior authorization or a referral from Greater Oregon Behavioral Health, Inc. or another provider for these services. So please call Greater Oregon Behavioral Health, Inc. or your local provider prior to these services.

How do I get care after regular office hours? 
If you need care after normal office hours and it is an emergency, please call 911. If you need care after normal office hours for non-emergency care but for care that you believe cannot wait until regular office hours, call your practitioner’s office crisis line.


When should I go to the emergency room? 
If you believe your condition requires emergency care, call 911 or go to the emergency room. You do not need authorization to receive emergency services.


What are excluded behavioral health services under the Oregon Health Plan?
To view current excluded behavioral health services, please click the following link for the Current Behavioral Health Prioritized List or the Searchable Prioritized List. Effective Jan. 1, 2016, lines 1 through 475 are covered by the Oregon Health Plan.
