Recruitment and Retention of Behavioral Health Professionals in Eastern Oregon
Last year GOBHI rebranded the career website to Eastern Oregon Behavioral Health Careers. This website is used by CMHPs and Community partners to post their current openings and share what it is like to live and work in Eastern, Oregon. In addition to job postings, the website contains testimonials, videos and photos that showcase the beauty of Eastern Oregon and the relevant work opportunities. In 2024, the campaign key metrics highlight the campaign's impact, with an estimated 11.9 million ad impressions and 77,000 landing page visits (32,000 more website visitors than 2023). Alongside other campaign efforts, contributed to a total of 178 job applications received between September and December 2024. The campaign is continuing into 2025!
Behavioral Health Directed Payment Updates
The Oregon Health Authority has made some small modifications to the payment amounts for the behavioral health directed payments program.
Category 1-Medicaid Dominant providers will need to complete a new attestation form and will receive the greater of 110% of DMAP or a reasonable inflation factor from 2024 rates. No increase or change for non-medicaid dominant providers.
Category 2- ICOD services will now be split by three service categories; SUD Residential, Mental Health Non-inpatient and SUD services. Previous years this was split by education levels, this no longer exists. Specific codes and modifiers apply.
SUD residential will receive 115% of DMAP as of 1/1/2025
Mental Health non-inpatient will receive 120% of DMAP as of 1/1/2025
SUD services will receive 110% of DMAP as of 1/1/2025
Category 3-Culturally and linguistically specific services have only one change and that is to add traditional health worker service codes to the increases related to non-rural and rural services. Custom modifier required to identify services.
Category 4- no changes
GOBHI will be following up with providers to collect attestation forms as well as contract amendments if necessary for updated rates.

GOBHI Endowment Offers Scholarships to Eastern Oregon Community Colleges in 2025
In addition to scholarships offered to Eastern Oregon University's Masters and Bachelor’s programs, the GOBHI Endowment Committee approved donations to Treasure Valley Community College and Blue Mountain Community College for the Fall 2025 academic year. This is part of GOBHI’s strategic mission to support workforce development and educational opportunities in the field of behavioral health and addiction studies. More details to follow when the application process is released along with submittal deadlines in the spring of 2025.
Lifeways Awarded Grant
Lifeways, a nonprofit organization based in Ontario, Oregon, has been awarded a $15 million grant from the state to expand its rehabilitation and addiction treatment services. This major funding boost will enable Lifeways to significantly enhance its efforts in addressing the critical need for addiction and mental health support in Eastern Oregon. During a meeting today, Steve Jensen, CEO of Lifeways, shared the exciting news of this award, which comes as the organization plans a transformative expansion of its facilities and programs. This milestone underscores Lifeways' commitment to providing comprehensive care and support for individuals and families in the community. 2025 Lunch and Learn Training Opportunities
In an effort to improve access to GOBHI’s training for network providers and offer Continuing Education Units (CEU’s), we are excited to announce the 2024 Lunch and Learn Series. On the 3rd Thursday of each month from 12-1 PM PT we will be offering 1 hour of CEUs for a variety of topics, presented by GOBHI subject matter experts. We are hoping you will join us! We understand this time is usually lunch for folks, so feel free to join camera on or off and both get some nourishment, earn a CEU, and engage with peers around topics that we think are pertinent to the work you all are doing!

Program update - Foster Care
Foster homes for youth are greatly needed in Eastern Oregon!
The GOBHI Therapeutic Foster Care program provides full-time/part-time services and care to youth in foster homes with foster parents certified and trained by GOBHI. Youth are involved with the Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS), Child Welfare Division.
